The most effective learning comes through practical living experiences. This allows children to understand what they are learning. And, if they get this understanding early in life, they will then reach for it in their experiences throughout life. So, I redefined the classroom, and became an active advocate with a passion for making a difference in the lives of children and their families...developing insightful ways to motivate, innovate and generate curiosity and learning, with critical thinking and other academic tools for success. As an educator, my deep love for learning and teaching evolved into a stewardship for the world's children, especially the underserved. To allow this partnership with humanity and to fulfill my mission, I had to also become an institution builder. I had to create and nurture environs that incorporate strong academic structure and seamless integration of character building into a curriculum and way of life that motivates individualism and team consciousness, while contributing to an overall sense of raised self-awareness, self-esteem, and a well-rounded educational experience.

Our staff reflects the diversity of the families in the community. Sheenway is the Village that reaches out and touches the multicultural essence of the indigenous lifestyles and dreams of our children. Sheenway reaches beyond the classroom, the inner city, and the country, with concurrent developmental and academic foci in the creation of a school with and without borders.
